Easy Microwave Carmel Salted Rice Krispy Treats

I made this up last night with things I had in my kitchen. They taste much better than they look. Bring them for a Super Bowl party 🙂


3 tablespoons of butter
I package of marshmallow
6 cups of rice Krispy cereal

Carmel sauce:
10-15 Carmel’s (I used worthers)
1/4 cup of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of butter
Sea salt on top to taste

Start by putting butter and marshmallows in a large microwave glass container and put on high for 2 minutes. I had to stop mine towards the end because the marshmallows were getting so big they were almost touching top of microwave. I didn’t want a mess so watch for that. Next I stirred it with a spatula (so it wouldn’t stick) until it was fluffy and added the 6 cups of Rice Krispies. Then put it into your square or rectangular Pyrex pan. Set aside and work on carmel sauce. Place Carmel butter and brown sugar in a large Pyrex measuring cup and microwave for about a minute removing it when butter melts. This depends on how high your microwave works some are faster than others. Stir the mixture till it’s blended and thick. If you want it thicker you can add a few more carmels and microwave for a short while but be careful not to burn mixture. Then pour on top of Rice Krispies add a little sea salt and let set. That’s it enjoy 🙂
