We got to get away the weekend before Thanksgiving to celebrate a couple 50th birthdays. It was mine and my friend Carrie’s 50th birthdays a week apart so we decided to get away and do a spa weekend. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place its sometimes hard to find a place to get away too that doesn’t cost a fortune. But I found out that Carmel Valley Ranch http://www.carmelvalleyranch.com/ has a few two bedroom suites along with a spa so we decided to go for it.
We got there early on Saturday around noon so we could have lunch on the property then I could get to my massage appointment at 2PM. Lunch was incredible I had ahi tuna salad nicoise which was amazing. Then I headed off to my massage. Then later in the afternoon when the rest of the girls and Carrie came we had appetizers and wine and sat by this outdoor fire pit by the pool. It was so much fun to catch up and relax with these amazing women 🙂 I feel truly blessed to have such beautiful women in my life to share 50 with.
The next morning we went for a walk around the vineyard which was beautiful. Then came back and packed to go out and do some early Christmas shopping. We decided to stop at this little local shop right by the Ranch called Carmel Valley Mercantile http://www.carmelvalleymercantile.com/ Super cute little shop with some homemade items. I got a patchwork purse for my niece for $29. They also carry Annie Sloane chalk paint which I love and use all the time. Then we drove into Carmel downtown and did some damage at Anthropologie and JCREW. After which I needed a burger and fries from too much wine the night before. So we parked right by this place called 400 degrees http://400degrees.com/ I had the Wagyu burger with fries which was just what I needed to finish off this lovely weekend. Thank you girls for all the fun we will have to make this a tradition…who needs to wait to 50 to get together 🙂
Happy Birthday Renee!! I’m not far behind….
